According to the decree Nº 12519 dated 26.7.1948

On the request of Tel-Chiha's Committee to operate a hospital in Zahle for obstetrics, surgery, internal medicine and medical health care.

After on-sight examination and

According to the Ministry of Health General Director's proposition

It was decided that:

 Art-I the committee of Tel-Chiha is licensed to open a hospital in the city of Zahle for obstetrics, surgery, internal medicine and medical health care.

 Art-II the above mentioned committee should respect and abide to health regulations stipulated by the doctrine Nº 2522 dated 23 rd of June 1924 as well as the following Mandatory conditions:

1- Not to accept cases of contagious disease in the hospital

2- Hospital beds should be positioned in such a way that every patient could have not less than twenty-five cubic meters of air.

3- Mosquito screens should be placed on kitchen and restrooms windows to prevent the entrance of Mosquitoes and flies; also spraying of insecticides to prevent insects entrance whenever is needed.

 Art-III This ministerial order is published and notified when need be.

A mission of welfare and charity       

On one of the most beautiful hills of the city of zahle, called Tallat Chiha rises Tel-Chiha hospital as a message of well fare and mercy, providing health care services to patients of this city and all the cities, villages, of the Bekaa valley.

 

           Tel-Chiha hospital is a non-profit humanitarian Lebanese institution that welcomes all patients and clients, without discrimination as well as receiving the poor and the needy. It also provides the patients and their souls not only with medical care but also the touch of charity and virtue too.

 

           The Greek Melkite Catholic Archbishop of Fourzol, Zahle and the Bekaa region is the supreme and permanent director of the hospital's committee, which is constituted of benevolent laical persons.

 

           Tel-Chiha's Funds are dedicated to the hospital. They are spent to renovate buildings, and for the acquisition of the most up-to-date medical equipments.

 

           This committee supervises the institution, administration and the hospital health care policies. It is the ethical and moral guarantee of the institution through all its components: administration doctors, employees and consequently patients and their parents and any one who is in relation with the hospital.

 

           Tel-Chiha could claim to be the be the greatest medical center in the Bekaa valley since it is equipped with precise international state of the art technology-all our highly skilled professional staff have been educated in, and recruited from, the leading universities in healthcare. Our medical team are accredited members of reputed international medical associations.
